The name Waynad is derived from the expression ‘Wayanadu’ which means land of paddy fields. Wayanad, a little paradise on the earth, is one of the loveliest hill stations of Kerala located in the heart of the Western Ghats (mountain ranges) at an altitude of 700-2100m above sea level. Situated amidst lush green vegetation and mist capped hills with pristine and fragrant breeze blowing round the year, the place offers a lifetime experience to its visitors. Sprawling plantations of spices and tea appearing like velvet lawns, add to the beauty of this scenic hill station. Wayanad is abundant in waterfalls, lakes, ancient caves, and varieties of wildlife, which make it one of the most sought after hill stations in India.
