Athirapally falls in the way of Sholayar ranges is the largest waterfall in Kerala. Amid the forest, with a height of 80 feet, this waterfall looks stunning with its many layers and sparkling water. You can go for trekking in the jungle through the sides of this fall. Large tea estates, lush green hillsides, streams, lakes, wonderful cliffs, all the beauty of nature came together in one place- Munnar. The constant cool foggy climate adds more charm to Munnar. This place is a heaven in Kerala.
Along with the largest gorgeous waterfall, Athirapally is also home for a large number of animals and birds. You can go for an exciting jungle safari in the woods. In Thekkady also you can watch wildlife including tigers, deer, and elephants. In Munnar’s cool climate you can enjoy activities like trekking and mountain biking through the craggy trails in the hills. And when you’re tired take a stroll through the narrow paths in the vast tea and spice gardens. Spend one day and night in a houseboat and complete this wonderful trip unwinding in the lap of Kerala’s backwaters.
Arrive at Cochin. From there, our cab driver will take you to Athirapally which has the largest waterfall in Kerala. Besides that, you can also visit Vazhachal and Chapra falls. The other attractions in Athirapally include Anakkayam, Thumboormuzhi garden, Malakkapara tea garden, Ezhattumugham, Dams, Abhayaranyam, etc. You can go for trekking near the sides of Athirapally waterfall which is surrounded by forest. Adventure enthusiast could also take a walk through the Sholayar forests. But don’t go beyond the restricted areas. After the day’s visit, check in to your hotel for overnight stay.
In the morning after breakfast, our cab driver will take you to Munnar, the most romantic hill station of Kerala. Sights on the way include CHEEYAPPARA and VALARA WATERFALLS. Cheeyappara waterfall is on your way 45km before you reach Munnar. Rock on which fall flows forms seven steps on the way, making the waterfall a spectacular vision by water pounding on each layer. And in a 12 km distance before Munnar, you can see Valara falls from the highway itself. The waterfall is covered by thick forest and rocky hills which make it hard to access the fall. Once you reach Munnar, check in to your hotel for the overnight stay.
After breakfast, our cab driver will take you towards the rolling hills around Munnar. This morning you can go hiking up to the Eco-point, Kundala Lake, Mattupetty Dam, and also boating. And in the afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park and the Tea Museum in the middle of the vast plantation. The park will be closed from February to April as it is the breeding season of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Evening Sightseeing continues to Hydel park and Munnar market if you have more time and energy. And at nightfall, you’ll be taken back to the resort for the overnight stay.
On the third day after having your breakfast, your driver will take you to Thekkady which is 120 km away from Munnar. Thekkady is well-known for its tea and cardamom plantations. The beauty of Thekkady lies in the lap of PERIYAR LAKE especially PERIYAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (our advised timings 1:45 pm or 3:30 pm on that same day or next day morning 7:30 am). Other attractions and activities in Thekkady include Kathakali and Kalaripayattu (ancient dance and martial art forms) and elephant safari. After the day’s visit, you’ll be driven back to the hotel/resort for overnight stay.
After breakfast, you’ll depart for your next adventure- Kettuvallam. This is a houseboat completely made of bamboos held together with coir knots. With furnished bedrooms, kitchen, washrooms, and other facilities, Kettuvallam is a small adorable house on the backwaters. You can check in on a Kettuvallam at 12 pm and check out at 9 am. On the daytime take a ride through the backwater and explore the unscathed beauty of rural Kerala. And spent the night floating on the water in this amazing bamboo home. Food will be served on the houseboat. A trip to gods owns country without a night in the Kettuvallam is actually half-done.
This morning after breakfast our cab driver will take you to the mini metro city of Kerala- Cochin. This city is called the queen of the Arabian Sea. Cochin present before you the remnants from her renowned days as you move through Fort Kochi, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jew Town, Old Spice market, St.Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and Chinese Fishing Nets. Kochi has historical as well as the modernized importance since one part of the city is rapidly developing while history resides on the other.
After the day’s visit, the cab driver will drop you at the Cochin airport or railway station according to guest departure timings.
