Cherai is home to one of the best beaches in Kerala. Famous for backwater tourism, Cherai engages and attracts you with water sports, Ayurvedic treatments, paragliding, and fresh seafood. Sitting by the shore you can enjoy the view of fisherman in their boats which looks like tiny dots floating over the horizon.
A ride in houseboat locally known as ‘Kettuvallam’ and spending your night in the boat amid the backwater is going to be a heavenly experience.
Your cab driver will pick you from Cochin International airport or the Ernakulam railway station based on your arrival and takes you to Cherai which is one of the picturesque beaches in Kerala. Apart from the clean beach, beautiful sunset, sunrise, Ayurveda, the beach is famous also for dolphin sighting.
Cherai is a unique beach with a wonderful mix of sea and backwaters. The long coconut trees in the shore add beauty and greenery to the clean beach. For swimming, sunbathing, and other water sports, this is an ideal beach destination. The lush green paddy fields are also another attraction in Cherai. Prawns are cultivated in those fields once paddy is reaped. Also, there are a few famous temples, a church, and a Fort here to visit.
A tour in houseboat made of bamboos is a must do stuff when you are visiting Kerala. Enjoy the beauty of Kerala’s backwaters with a long refreshing ride and a calm floating night. Food will be provided on the houseboat.
On the 3rd day, explore the queen of Arabian Sea, Kochi. Kochi is a city where culture, art, tradition, history, and modernization come together. You can visit places like Mattancherry palace, Indo-Portuguese Museum, Jewish synagogue, Hill Palace, Folklore Theatre and Museum, Wonderla, etc. according to the time of your departure.
Arrive at Cochin. Our cab driver will pick you up from the airport or railway station and take you to the relaxing beach destination, Cherai. This tropical paradise located 25 km away from Cochin is a bliss of nature with an amazing beach bordered by long coconut palms, paddy fields, fresh delicious seafood, and backwaters.
You’ll be transferred to your resort. After check-in, you can rest for some time and later in the evening spend your time on the beach enjoying and watching the sunset. Pleasant stay at the beach resort overnight.
Once you reach Munnar, check in to your hotel for the overnight stay.
After breakfast, you’ll depart for your next adventure- Kettuvallam. This is a houseboat completely made of bamboos held together with coir knots. With furnished bedrooms, kitchen, washrooms, and other facilities, Kettuvallam is a small adorable house on the backwaters. You can check in on a Kettuvallam at 12 pm and check out at 9 am. On the daytime take a ride through the backwater and explore the unscathed beauty of rural Kerala. And spent the night floating on the water in this amazing bamboo home. Food will be served on the houseboat. A trip to gods owns country without a night in the Kettuvallam is actually half-done.
And in the afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park and the Tea Museum in the middle of the vast plantation. The park will be closed from February to April as it is the breeding season of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
Evening Sightseeing continues to Hydel park and Munnar market if you have more time and energy. And at nightfall, you’ll be taken back to the resort for the overnight stay.
This morning after breakfast our cab driver will take you to the mini metro city of Kerala- Cochin. This city is called the queen of the Arabian Sea. Cochin present before you the remnants from her renowned days as you move through Fort Kochi, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jew Town, Old Spice market, St.Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and Chinese Fishing Nets. Kochi has historical as well as the modernized importance since one part of the city is rapidly developing while history resides on the other.
After the day’s visit, the cab driver will drop you at the Cochin airport or railway station according to guest departure timings.
